PDF to Excel

Convert selectable PDF text into an Excel workbook. The tool groups text into rows and approximate columns, then places each source page on its own worksheet.

How to convert PDF to Excel

  1. Choose a PDF containing selectable text or tables.
  2. Select Convert to Excel. The tool reads each page and builds a worksheet for it.
  3. Download the .xlsx workbook and review the extracted rows and columns against the source PDF.

The converter uses text positions and spacing to estimate rows and columns; it does not identify every table structure perfectly. Complex layouts, merged cells, multi-column pages and wrapped text may need cleanup in Excel. Scanned or image-only PDFs need OCR before this converter can read their contents.

Private, browser-based conversion

Your selected PDF is processed in your browser and is not uploaded to our application server. The Excel workbook is generated on your device, and the original PDF is not changed.

Password-protected, damaged or unsupported files may fail. Large PDFs use additional memory and processing time. This tool only extracts selectable text; it does not perform OCR, and empty-text pages are marked in their worksheet.

When PDF to Excel is useful

Use this tool as a starting point for moving tabular text from reports, statements, schedules or lists into a spreadsheet. Always check numeric values and column alignment before sorting, totaling or making decisions from the result; the layout of the source PDF determines how accurately columns can be inferred.
